For Cowboys fans, Sunday night’s last-second comeback win over the Giants came at a great cost: Dez Bryant’s foot, which has a broken bone that will require surgery and will cause him to miss an estimated four to six weeks. Though the Cowboys got an important win in the division, losing perhaps their best player puts a damper on things.
Well, it should, but it didn’t seem to bother Dez much. That’s him hopping around gleefully on his broken foot, congratulating teammates and staffers in the tunnel after the game. That’s probably a trainer hopelessly trying to rein Dez in, but even he knows you can’t contain Dez’s enthusiasm, which extended to Twitter later that night.
I'll be back soon but how about 9????????#cowboynation

Dez was rightly jazzed about his quarterback’s game-winning play, and it’s not his job to get down in the dumps, but his injury raises serious questions. If Dez misses the minimum four weeks, then the Cowboys will have to face four potentially tough matchups without him — the Eagles, Falcons, Saints and Patriots are on the docket before the Boys’ Week 6 bye. If Bryant misses six weeks, then he’ll miss the rematch with the Giants in the Meadowlands.
In Dez’s absence, Terrance Williams will become the team’s number one receiver. He’s shown competence across from Bryant in the past couple years, but only brief flashes of the talent required to go against teams’ top corners. Romo leaned on Jason Witten once Dez went down on Sunday night, and he’ll likely continue to do so.
