In the lead up to his third fight with Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone this Sunday at UFC Fight Night 59, Benson “Smooth” Henderson has been putting in work with Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Both men say they naturally gravitate towards and train with good people, and from all accounts, both men are swell dudes. Larry is a little upset that Benson, despite living and training in Phoenix, is still a Seattle Seahawks fan from his days growing up in Tacoma, but Bendo assures Fitzgerald that there is a strong possibility he’ll switch allegiances next season. Benson praises Larry’s work ethic, saying that if he wanted to transition to MMA, he could do well based on how much effort he puts into training (And now I kind of want to see Fitzgerald take on CM Punk). Benson and Larry join a small group of fighters that train with football players, most notably Matt Brown and Maurice Clarett.
