Does anyone love anything as much as Bill Murray loves the Chicago Cubs? Murray, a native of Chicago, has supported the Cubbies through thick and thin for decades, and on Friday night, he was one of the many folks in the crowd for the Cubs’ NLDS Game 1 matchup with the San Francisco Giants. As you can see, Murray decided to send a message to anyone who thinks that this isn’t the Cubs’ year:

For a fan of a team that hasn’t won a World Series since 1908, Murray is really confident. He has good reason to be: Chicago took down San Francisco last night, 1-0, thanks to a home run by Javier Baez and a dominant pitching performance from Jon Lester. That home run came in the game’s eighth inning, and Murray was one of many fans at Wrigley Field who were elated with the dinger.

And to answer your two questions: yes, Murray wore a Jimmy John’s hat during the game, and no, we do not know how or why he acquired a Jimmy John’s hat that he wore during a Cubs playoff game. Still, he had an awesome time on Friday, which is all that matters.

Game 2 of the NLDS will take place on Saturday night. We have no idea if Bill Murray’s gonna be there, but come on, the Cubs are in the playoffs, of course Bill Murray’s gonna be there.
