Criss Angel has just wrapped up an eight-year Las Vegas show run for his Cirque Du Soleil co-promotion Criss Angel: BeLIEve. That means he’s got a lot of spare time on his hands, so of course he’d take those hands and stick them through a woman’s stomach and rip her in half. That’s just what Criss Angel does.
In this case, the woman he’s tearing up isn’t just some magician’s apprentice. It’s up and coming UFC star Paige VanZant. VanZant is best known outside the cage for her recent Dancing With The Stars run, where she came in second place. Inside the cage, she quickly silenced critics who questioned her abilities with a stunning switch-kick knockout of Bec Rawlings in her last fight.
VanZant has the chops to be a star in both realms, so we expect more appearances in unique projects for the 22-year-old. Maybe they won’t involve intestines flying all over the place, but with cage fighting you never know. This particular gig is part of Criss Angel’s new Halloween magic special Trick’d Up, which is set to premiere on Oct. 12 on A&E. Other tricks shown in the commercial include Criss flying, Criss being impaled, and Criss scaring the bejeezus out of women in elevators.
Or as Criss calls it, “Just another day in Vegas.”
