In a sport where most off-the-field headlines stem from a failed drug test or debauched nights of partying, Dallas Cowboys rookie QB Dak Prescott decided to buck the trend and get a nice night of shuteye when he was offered free Kanye West tickets. Of course, going to a concert on a Thursday night isn’t going to damn someone to mediocrity or the doghouse, but Prescott, who has led the Cowboys to a 4-1 record while Tony Romo recovers from a back injury, knew all eyes were on him.
He told Sports Illustrated that instead of going to see the Saint Pablo Tour with its flying stage, Prescott watched New England shut out the Texans, watched some college football, then crawled under the covers.
“I wanted to go a little bit, but I just think about the perception of it all. And I love my sleep.”
It’s almost as if Dak Prescott lives his life like he runs the Cowboys offense: with calculated decisions, nothing too crazy, and then goes to lie down after winning with a night of contemplating a Beasley. In this case, probably Pam from The Office as he puts on Netflix and goes to bed. It’s a proven formula for success. He’s the anti-’90s Cowboys. who were only able to sleep after being awake for 72 hours straight.
