Things aren’t going so hot over at Fox Sports 1 these days. The network’s rating are down and a whole lot of changes have been made, including a bunch of layoffs. One of the programs most affected by the layoffs was Fox Sports Live, the daily highlight show hosted by lovable Canadians Jay Onrait and Dan O’Toole, who were hired away from TSN in one of FS1’s most noteworthy acquisitions before its launch back in 2013.
Apparently, network execs recently decided to lay off the show’s stage crew, then stick Jay, Dan and the rest of their remaining team in a studio prop room to film during Super Bowl week, while other members of the network got to head to the big game festivities in San Francisco.
This budget allocation clearly didn’t sit well with O’Toole, who has responded by taking repeated shots at his employer via Twitter.

@RobertLusetich @patmuldowney Embrace spending so much money for nothing!

@TheBuzzerOnFOX Is that how the Buzzer crew cheered when our entire stage crew got laid off?!

That certainly sounds like a man who is very bitter and frustrated, and you can’t blame him. Jay & Dan are two of the best in the business, so it’s unfortunate to see them caught in a currently less-than-stellar situation at FS1. But, hey, at least O’Toole still has his humor.
Crap. Now that I know people actually see my tweets, should have included @Budweiser. #whatwouldpeytondo
