Much has been said in the sports media about supposed fights UFC Women’s Champ Ronda Rousey could have if she stepped into the cage with a man. Hell, even I’ve been guilty of posing hypotheticals about Rousey’s chances against men. It’s all in fun, though. What isn’t fun is Floyd Mayweather’s reported interest in battering women. On Wednesday night at the ESPYs, Ronda took time out of her post-win interview to throw a stiff jab towards the boxing champ regarding his past assault on females. If you didn’t see it, here you go:
The truth is, we’ll never really get to see how Rousey would match up with a man inside the cage, and we shouldn’t. A man fighting a woman would not be appeasing in any way. Still — and here we go again with the hypotheticals — Dana White chimed in with his thoughts on a proposed brawl with Rousey and Mayweather, and you can probably expect what he’d say.
“Ronda would ragdoll him,” White said.
“I’d like to see that,” said the interviewer.
“I would, too,” responded White.
Mayweather, who carefully chooses his opponents, would never fight Ronda… Wait. Yes, he probably would.
