The kids use the Twitters for a lot of things these days – stalking Kyrie Irving, showing their ding dongs to random girls, bragging to the FBI about taking part in cyber crimes… you know, kid stuff – but Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Evan Longoria is using it to reach out to his fellow athletes on behalf of Rays marketing. That’s mainly because I assume the Rays dropped their marketing team to pay Tropicana’s utility bills.
But after the United States Women’s National Soccer Team lost to Japan in the World Cup Finals on Sunday, Longoria Tweeted at Alex Morgan to show his support for the ladies, and to invite them to, you know, chill. And chill they might because Morgan seems to like the idea.
While it seems mostly harmless, I have to express my concern for Morgan and the rest of her teammates. Guys sometimes have hidden agendas, ladies, so just be careful when accepting invitations from guys like Longoria on Twitter. I know, you’re big girls and you can handle yourselves – and I’m sure some of the women would be more partial to a different Longoria – but I still wanted to take this chance to make all the ladies out there aware of a few warning signs…
Even with all the warning signs present, there shouldn’t be any cause for concern. Morgan is currently dating Servando Carrasco of the Seattle Sounders, so she wouldn’t have any interest in a guy like Longoria, would she?
Oh well, lost cause.
