… except for the final score, of course, as the Cincinnati Reds earned a 4-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday. But everything else about Star Wars Day at Chase Field was pretty great, from the player intros to the fans dressing up as their favorite characters.
You can say what you want – that plenty of teams have done this Star Wars promotion before and aside from the funny photoshops of the team’s stars, like Paul Goldschmidt above, this wasn’t much different – but the Diamondbacks had the cantina band performing the chicken dance on top of a dugout, people. If they don’t get some bonus cool points for that, then I’m just not sure what else we can expect from our MLB teams anymore.
