Grabbing a home run ball in McCovey Cove is part of the appeal of a Giants game, but it typically involves boats, kayaks or other similar maritime vessels. That wasn’t the case with this fan during Friday’s Giants-Phillies game, however. The fan hopped over the railing and into the water to chase a Joe Panik home run. The fan had to be thrown a life preserver and swim to a ladder to get out, but there was a clear moment of satisfaction with the whole thing.
