In the top of the third inning of the Giants-Mets game on Monday, starter Chris Heston showed off a pretty decent pick-off move that appeared to have Curtis Granderson hung out to dry.
The only problem? Nobody was covering first base.
.@Hesto23 was so unaccustomed to seeing Mets baserunners, he tried to plunk one: http://t.co/ArrszDweaj pic.twitter.com/ptFjbWfMcp

To be fair, Heston may not have been the only one who didn’t realize first base was not being covered at the time because Granderson dove back to the bag. Heston was charged with the error and most of the ridicule that comes with making the “highlights” for all the wrong reasons.
