We’re only four games into the 2015 NHL playoffs, but New York Islanders fans are already having themselves quite the post-season. First, if you’re to believe one faction of visiting Capitals fans who attended Game 3 at Nassau Coliseum on Sunday, a small group of Islanders fans took it upon themselves to give them a nice, fun-loving welcome, by allegedly keying their cars and making offensive remarks to anyone dressed in Capitals gear.
Police are still in the process of investigating those alleged shenanigans from Sunday, but there’s no investigating necessary for what happened on Tuesday night after Game 4. Following Nicklas Backstrom’s game-winner 11 minutes into overtime, which tied the series 2-2, a fan from the stands threw their beer at the group of celebrating Capitals players, hitting defenseman Brooks Orpik in the head.
Notice that immediately after the beer makes contact, Orpik’s head goes back, and to the right. BACK, and to the right. Which means it was either thrown from Orpik’s left, or that is one magic brewski.
