Winnipeg Jets forward Joel Armia is only a rookie, but that didn’t prevent him from taking a veteran defenseman to school on Thursday night in Dallas.
On just the fourth goal of his young career (but his second of the game), the 22-year-old Armia managed to completely undress Stars defenseman Johnny Oduya before burying the puck in the back of the net. The Finnish forward pulled off a sweet outside-inside dangle that left Oduya looking totally lost.
As silly as Oduya ended up looking, a backchecking Tyler Seguin, who hesitated to track the trailers on the odd man rush, didn’t provide much assistance in the wake of his defenseman’s destruction.
