It’s a bad idea to throw into double coverage. It’s an even worse idea to throw the football straight to two defensive players downfield from your intended receiver. With that being said, sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good..and Marcus Mariota got very, very lucky on Sunday in New Orleans.
Despite a terrible throw from Mariota, two Saints defenders couldn’t secure the interception and ended up deflecting the football straight to tight end Delanie Walker, who hauled it in and took it to the house for a very strange touchdown reception.
It counts the same on the box score and the scoreboard, though!
