Marshawn Lynch Has Reportedly Agreed To Bring Beast Mode To The Raiders

The Oakland Raiders might only exist for two more years before moving to Las Vegas, but at least Oakland fans can look forward to seeing Marshawn Lynch in his hometown’s silver and black.

Lynch has reportedly agreed to terms of a deal to come out of retirement and play for the Raiders this season, per the NFL Network’s Michael Silver.

As Ian Rapoport notes, Lynch’s rights are still retained by the Seahawks, which means a trade will likely happen between the Raiders and Seattle in order for Oakland to sign Lynch.

Lynch, an Oakland native, has been linked to a possible NFL return with the Raiders for much of the spring, but many thought it was just smoke — even Lynch’s agent had no idea what he’d do — but Beast Mode has apparently had enough of his retirement for now and wants to return to the field. The Raiders will welcome his presence both for what he can offer on the field, complementing Latavious Murray in the backfield and for the possible goodwill he can bring them with fans that are upset about their impending move to Vegas.

Marshawn has recently become one of the best personalities in football, making tremendous video content with Skittles and going into the wilderness with Bear Gryllis. Lynch being back in the NFL is good for the league’s entertainment value and the Raiders will hope he can provide their offense some added punch and veteran presence this season along with young stars in quarterback Derek Carr and receiver Amari Cooper.

Update: This might not be a done deal yet, and Lynch took to Twitter to pump the brakes on people saying this was a done deal.

There’s still a strong probability that something is in the works considering multiple people have reported on it, but it seems as though nothing official is happening any time in the immediate future. If and when it does, Marshawn will be the first one to let us know about it.
