Michigan wide receiver Amara Darboh didn’t wait too long to put in his entry for “Catch of Week 4” with his spectacular one-handed grab in the 1st quarter in the Wolverines game against BYU.
The athleticism it takes to stop on a dime, make a complete turn, and then leap up and grab the ball with one hand and keep possession all the way to the ground is insane, and some may even dare to call it Odell Beckham-esque. Made even better, Darboh’s grab eventually led to a touchdown for the Wolverines on the possession thanks to a touchdown run by quarterback Jake Ruddock.
Darboh’s catch completes a pretty special week for the senior, since just two days ago, the Sierra Leone native officially became a United States citizen after years of trying to complete the process.
In order to complete the citizenship test, Darboh had to answer questions such as who is third in line for the presidency and what body makes federal laws, questions which if I had to guess, fewer than 50 percent of people who already are U.S. citizens would be able to answer.
But Darboh was able to get them right, and now he has a highlight catch to boot. Not a bad week at all.
