The Green Bay Packers are still trying to adjust to life without star wide receiver Jordy Nelson. As you can probably recall, Nelson sustained a freak, season-ending ACL injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week in a preseason game.
But at least for a moment, Packers receiver Myles White helped fans cope with this fact. In Saturday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, White, a third-year player out of Louisiana Tech, made this amazing one-handed grab despite being held. It was one of nine catches for 89 yards White had on the night. Those numbers led both teams. In fact, his nine receptions matches his career total to date and already surpasses his career yardage.
The Packers’ most recent depth chart, though unofficial, has White as a third-string receiver. Certainly, that catch is a good way to try to prove you deserve a roster spot, but the Packers have quality depth at that position.
