When the New England Patriots Twitter account isn’t making horrible, mindless decisions by celebrating one million followers, it’s taking shots at the New York Jets. Specifically, the Patriots account went straight for the jugular by making the Jets the, um, “butt” of a joke, so to speak, before promptly deleting it.
The “Buttfumble” game between the Jets and Patriots is a few years old now, but it’s a moment that will live forever in infamy. And, well, the Patriots decided that if you’re going to #TBT on Twitter, it’s best to take the #YOLO approach.
Now, for your viewing pleasure, here’s a GIF of the Buttfumble again, because like Taylor Swift, it will never go out of style:
Also, because we’re so nice, we’ve previously compiled a number of Buttfumble GIFs.
Of course, in this day and age of social-media awareness, it was to ask just how long the tweet was going to stay live. At least that’s what Pro Football Talk and Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports want to know.
How long until Belichick personally deletes that butt fumble tweet?

Personally, this seemed like fair game between two divisional rivals. The Jets and Patriots will square off this Sunday anyway, so it’s possible New York goes out and plays so well that New England is the one making an ass of themselves.
