It’s no return to the Octagon, but Ronda Rousey is back to kicking butt, this time on the popular television show Blindspot. The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion is a guest star on Wednesday’s episode, which airs at 8PM EST on NBC. To get you warmed up for the occasion, the network has released this clip featuring a ‘full fight’ from the show where Rousey plays Devon Penberthy, a tough gunrunner who isn’t letting prison cramp her violent ways.
Penberthy also happens to be quite adept at judo, just like Rousey. The clip features Ronda hitting three judo throws in under a minute … just like she did back in her cage fighting days. Our favorite part is definitely when she chucks her poor victim right onto the edge of a metal table. Unfortunately for that lady, we don’t think they have chiropractors in prison.
Past that Rousey is all scowls and sass … you’ll have to tune into the episode yourself if you want to see how her acting chops have developed over the past year she’s spent largely outside of the spotlight. Originally, it looked like Rousey was set to become another one of those rare athletes that could transition from their sport right into major starring roles, but following her two losses in the UFC it now seems like she’ll have to climb her way up to the top of Hollywood instead.
She may not even be all that interested in doing that at all any more. Recent news has her engaged to fellow UFC fighter Travis Browne, and she was talking about the urge to have his babies last year. So enjoy Ronda Rousey’s screen time while you can, because she could be disappearing again soon to start a family.
