One that Ryan Tannehill might want to forget… 🙈#AZvsMIA https://t.co/zxHvR68yte

With a Week 13 thrashing at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens aside, the Miami Dolphins are playing pretty good football these days. After a dismal 1-4 start, the team has won six out of the last seven games and, over that time period, quarterback Ryan Tannehill has played solid football while leading the squad. On Sunday, though, the oft-maligned signal-caller put forth a nominee for worst pass of the 2016 NFL season against the Arizona Cardinals.
During the closing minutes of the first half, Tannehill took a shotgun snap on second down from his own 35-yard line and the Dolphins put together what looked to be a quick screen to wide receiver Jarvis Landry. The play was executed quite well on the outside, with the spectacular exception of Tannehill’s individual work.
The pass produced rousing laughter from the internet and NFL fans everywhere, as it traveled roughly half of the desired distance while also being wildly off-target from a directional perspective. In the immediate aftermath, it is clear that Tannehill was probably embarrassed by the play and, frankly, the Dolphins were lucky to retain possession because the quarterback’s pass actually traveled backward to produce a potential live ball turnover.
In the end, there wasn’t wild damage done on this play, but Ryan Tannehill certainly earned the pointing and laughing that he received on the heels of this woeful pass attempt.
