If you’re the type of person who is easily shocked and surprised, you might want to sit down and maybe strap on a helmet for this one. After the bars closed in Belo Horizonte, Brazil this morning, drunken World Cup fans from Argentina and the home country decided to have a figurative pissing match to once and for all answer the most important question – which fans are better at trying to kill the other fans? The timeless tradition of belligerent stupidity in the name of sports escalated as fans chucked glass bottles at each other, creating one of my greatest barefoot nightmares in the process.
Eventually, the riot police showed up for some tear gas target practice and at least one person was arrested. That elicited a chorus of boos from the morons who really wanted to lose an eye, or at the very least contract tetanus. Hopefully the Argentinians saved a little energy for their match today.
