He was forced to withdraw shortly thereafter. This is the third time he’s had to do so in his last eight tournaments.
The problem this time is something about his butt muscles not working properly. From ESPN, he had this to say afterward:
“My glutes are shutting off. And then they don’t activate, and then hence it goes into my lower back,” Woods said.
“So, I tried to activate my glutes as best I could, in between, but it just they never stayed activated.”
