UR Fight was always expected to be weird, but who thought the insanity would be delivered within a minute of the show starting? Mavrick Harvey and Shannon Ritch, both of whom signed on to fight after the Tank Abbott/Dan Severn fight fell apart, went at it with reckless abandon. Somehow, the fight devolved into both men fighting through the ropes until Harvey had to pull Ritch back into the ring VIA WEDGIE.
Then, Ritch somehow pulled off the rear naked choke moments later. WTF did we just see? Best show ever.

The finish itself shouldn’t be much of a surprise. Shannon Ritch has a 53-79 record, and Mavrick is pretty much a maniac. We knew this fight couldn’t end any other way besides a finish, but for us to witness a plethora of strikes as the men fell through the ropes, well… Let’s just say all of this is living up to the hype.
And before you question whether that was a wedgie – Rampage Jackson who is ringside with Jim Ross and Sean Wheelock was insisting it was a wedgie and probably loved the fight more than anyone, saying the match featured two things that every fight needs to be called “exciting” — a submission and a wedgie.
