It’s not often that a bench-clearing brawl actually starts… you know… on the bench. However, that was the case during a bizarre Vysshaya hokkeinaya liga (VHL) playoff game between minor league teams THC and Izhstal. THC coach Alex Zhdahin entered the on-ice scrum business, but once the dust settled, he was nothing but party on the top.
The video starts off innocently enough, then devolves into shoving, punching, and one coach ripping off a player’s helmet and throwing it at him. If Eurovision and the Russian friend I made at the World Juniors in 2011 have taught me anything, it’s that when Russians do anything, they go hard. This is no exception. You don’t have to watch the whole thing, but after six already wild minutes into the video, Zhdahin is busted open and STILL trying to go after Andrei Razin, the Izhstal coach. Razin may have kept his clothes on, but I feel pretty confident in declaring this shirtless fellow the winner of the day. I mean, look at how he left the ice. Dude doesn’t even need shirt:
Baller as hell.
