It just wasn’t the Oklahoma City Thunder’s night.
When Raymond Felton missed a pair of free throws with seven seconds left on the clock and his team up 85-84, Kevin Durant grabbed the defensive rebound and shoveled the ball to a streaking Russell Westbrook. The Thunder’s point guard found Durant on the other end of the floor for an easy layup, but the 2014 MVP missed another shot he normally makes – the cherry on top of a dismal 7-of-33 shooting performance.
After Westbrook’s own follow attempt was off the mark, Steven Adams nabbed the board and immediately bounced the ball of the glass for an apparent game-winning layup.
Following a brief video review, though, officials called off Adams’ basket and awarded the short-handed Dallas Mavericks an 85-84 victory.
