Nearly two months after the scandal broke that Josh Duggar, eldest Duggar offspring, had molested five underage girls as a teenager, TLC has finally and mercifully canceled 19 Kids and Counting. Although there’s been no official release yet, the Associated Press broke the news this morning:

Why on Earth they waited this long is anybody’s guess, following Michelle and Jim-Bob’s bizarre and incriminating Fox News interview and news of an alleged victim preparing a civil suit. No word yet on if TLC plans to continue with their Duggar spin-off, but here’s hoping this is the beginning of the end of this family’s time in the spotlight.
