Downton Abbey is a critically-acclaimed, award-winning British drama that has drawn raves from audiences on both sides of the Atlantic, but in a recent interview, actress Sophie McShera explained that the show actually stinks really, really bad.
Sophie McShera, who plays humble cook’s assistant Daisy, explained there was a “no wash” policy on all the clothes worn on set in order to preserve their authentic historic look.
But the 28-year-old said this resulted in an unpleasant smell lingering on the set of the ITV hit series, which is set in post-Edwardian Britain.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, she said: “We do stink, as they don’t wash our costumes.” [Telegraph]
