Last night, Empire brought an end to its record-breaking first season with massive ratings. Now that it’s over and still very buzzy, there are plenty looking to finally check the show out to see what the Lyons crew are all about. But, in order to do so, they’re going to have to have a Hulu subscription.
From Vulture:
The streaming giant has landed the exclusive subscription video-on-demand rights to Empire, the red-hot Fox soap that ended its first season Wednesday night. As part of a deal between Hulu and the studio behind Empire, all current and future episodes of Empire will live on both Hulu and Hulu Plus the day after premiering on Fox.
What this means is, if you are watching Empire on Hulu currently, don’t worry about the show leaving the service now that the season has wrapped up. This deal joins the ranks of hot streaming exclusive pacts for the likes of The Blacklist and Gotham on Netflix. It’s about time Hulu got a win, and this is most certainly a big one.
