Earlier this month, Syfy announced their decision to greenlight a 12-episode season for The Magicians, a new series based on Lev Grossman’s bestselling trilogy of books. The above trailer gives viewers a glimpse into the world of Quentin Coldwater. Quentin discovers his unique talent for performing magic and soon finds himself admitted to Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy, which looks kind of like Hogwarts if it was located in upstate New York.
For a Syfy series, this trailer looks pretty promising. Will it live up to the books’ standards? We’ll have to wait and see as The Magicians will premiere in 2016.
