Good for Sideshow Bob. After years and years and years of trying (the lesson is, never try), Sideshow Bob will finally kill Bart during this Sunday’s “Treehouse of Horror” episode of The Simpsons. Guess he’s no longer accustomed to his face. Murdering Bart is what Bob’s wanted since he got busted, but according to showrunner Al Jean, “We deal with how Bob would really feel once he accomplished this goal he’s had his whole life.”
Technically, “Treehouse of Horror” specials are non-canon, so Bob could gut Bart with a chainsaw for 30 minutes and it wouldn’t be real. Insomuch as any episode of an animated TV show in which the owner of the Denver Broncos freelances as an astronaut food critic, and a family gets abducted by aliens on multiple occasions, and there’s an escalator to nowhere can be considered “real.” One can only dream of a world where Honk If You’re Horny exists.
Until then, let’s watch a grown man murder a young boy.
