Lady Gaga graces the cover of the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, and the accompanying story reveals some major and sh*tballs redonkulous plot details about the upcoming season of American Horror Story: Hotel. Earlier this month, we gained some insight as to the roles of some of the major characters, and, shortly after, we learned that Lily Rabe will be playing none other than real-life serial killer Aileen Wuornos.
These new details, however, get into the nitty gritty mythology of the titular Hotel Cortez. According to EW, the art deco-style hotel will have been built in 1930 by Evan Peters’ character James March; a wealthy and charming psychopath who built the hotel as a “labyrinthine structure built to hide [his] murderous activities,” confirming that the season will indeed feature copious flashbacks.
Also, Lady Gaga is like a vampire or something, I don’t know:
In present day, though, the Cortez is acquired by Gaga’s Countess, a glamorous socialite who attends art openings and fashion shows and maintains her looks not from a steady diet of kale but from imbibing human blood. Murphy doesn’t like to call it vampirism.
“I prefer the term ‘ancient blood virus,’ ” Murphy says of her affliction. “It’s really a form of hemophilia, in a way.”
But perhaps the most intriguing detail is about this season’s villain. In the vein of Rubber Man, Bloody Face, Twisty the Clown, and whatever that horse thing was in Coven, Hotel‘s mysterious evil will be something called The Addiction Demon, “a creature who has no eyes or mouth, but does wield a nasty, conical drillbit dildo.”
Drillbit dildo, eh? Going by the description, The Addition Demon was probably the creature shown in the latest round of teasers (pictured above) for Hotel.
In a second story posted by EW Wednesday, Ryan Murphy also says that one episode will take place in the Murder House from season one, making good on his promise of “former characters checking in.”
Marcy (Christine Estabrook), the annoying realtor who sold the Harmons family their haunted home, appears in Hotel! Naturally, she’s the real estate agent for the similarly horrific Hotel Cortez. [She will show] the property to fashion designer Will Drake (Cheyenne Jackson) and his son.
Interesting. Here’s Lady Gaga in full bloody glory on the cover of Entertainment Weekly:
