Two days ago not only brought us news that the fourth season of Arrested Development had begun filming, but Jason Bateman tweeted the first photo from the set (how messed up is it that the old guys, Jason Bateman and Ron Howard, are providing the tweets while the hipster kids, Alia Shawkat and Michael Cera, are nowhere to be found on Twitter? GET WITH YOUR GENERATION, GUYS). The first inexplicable photo featured characters from Workaholics, which initially led me to believe that this whole Arrested Development revival was a sham perpetuated by Nikki Finke to increase page views.
Now, there are photos of actual cast members.
What do they tell us? They tell us that Portia de Rossi and David Cross — who play husband and wife, Lindsay and Tobias Funke — are at the airport, collecting their luggage, and that Michael Bluth is picking them up. Also, that Tobias looks like he’s doing an E.T. impression and Lindsay is still totally bangin’ in the high heels and jeans. Or maybe David Cross and Portia de Rossi are simply flying in from somewhere, and Jason Bateman is picking them up so they can continue to discuss how they’re in cahoots with Nikki Finke and messing with all of America by making up this entire movie.
But then again, Jason Bateman has that confused Michael Bluth look on his face, so YEP. IT’S DEFINITELY ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. I won’t be satisfied, however, until I see what shape Michael Cera’s hair is in. Last we saw, he’d gone full-blown hipster-fro and his bony ass was about to buckle from the weight of it.
