We’ve seen teaser trailers, and that means actual moving pictures have been taken of the new Starz series Ash vs. Evil Dead. This one isn’t moving, but it’s a brand new picture of Bruce Campbell as Ash in all his deadite-killing glory. Courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, here is our reluctant hero with costars Ray Santiago and Dana Delorenzo, who play Ash’s coworkers at Value Stop, the store that must have bought out S-Mart. (Not enough people “bought smart,” I guess?)
Campbell also shared what Ash has been doing for the 22 years that have passed since Army of Darkness:
“Not much!” says Campbell. “He was perfectly happy doing basically nothing: telling lies about how he lost his hand in bars late at night. That was basically his MO. So, he’s not really the guy who should be dealing with this right now. But…he is. He’s our guy!”
Sam Raimi also confirmed that, yes, Ash is responsible for unleashing the deadites once again because “[h]e’s the only one stupid enough to really tamper with those spirits.”
Good old Ash. Never change! And he didn’t. The 10-episode series will premiere on Starz this fall.
