In season 2 of Ash Vs Evil Dead, lovable jerkass Ash Campbell had an avalanche of daddy issues dumped in his lap. This go-around, Ash has another parenting-related issue on his hands. Or, uh, hand.
After serving up a suitably splatstick Halloween teaser, Starz has dropped the season 3 trailer on the internet’s doorstep. Bruce Campbell’s Ash (who plays Value Stop pitchman too in the spot) has to sort out where his estranged daughter fits in his life as he, Pablo Simon Bolivar (Ray Santiago) and Kelly Maxwell (Dana DeLorenzo) continue to deal with all the nastiness Ruby (Lucy Lawless) and the titular Evil Dead that have been wreaking havoc all series long. Don’t feel too worried for the gang, though. As we can see in the preview, Ash has a special knack for cutting Deadite heads in two like a gory grocer.
Here’s the official synopsis for the upcoming season. As you may have guessed, the horror-comedy isn’t taking a dramatic shift into being a legal drama or anything like that.
The third season finds Ash, having gone from murderous urban legend to humanity-saving hometown hero, discovering that he has a long-lost daughter who’s been entrusted in his care. When Kelly witnesses a televised massacre with Ruby’s fingerprints all over it, she returns with a new friend to warn Ash and Pablo that evil isn’t done with them yet. Blood is thicker than water in the battle of good vs Evil Dead.
Groovy. The season premiere of Ash vs. Evil Dead is slated to arrive February 25.
