The next time you’re out and about and think to yourself, “Say, isn’t that [actor or actress from a distantly remembered show from years ago]?” yes, it probably is. Steven Anthony Lawrence, best known as “Beans” from Even Stevens, the Disney Channel series that ran for three seasons and introduced the world to Shia LaBeouf’s comically large ego, has resurfaced in a mall in Concord, California, obviously. Lawrence is currently working as Santa’s helper at the Sunvalley Shopping Center, much to the delight of shoppers on their way to buy discounted Napoleon Dynamite shirts at Hot Topic.
He seems to be a good sport about all the nostalgic attention, despite feeling “like I’ve changed so much when I look in the mirror.”

Seeing someone who used to be on TV now work at a mall for $9 is depressing, but the gig might be temporary, and not because no one wants to sit on Santa’s lap in May, for some reason. The 25-year-old — who’s done some commercial work and also teaches acting seminars — is set to play Jingles in Holly, Jingles, and Clyde 3D, an upcoming film about “two bumbling elves [who] team up with Santa’s daughter Holly to try to help a Michigan family in danger of losing its Christmas-tree farm.” He’s gone Method!
Suck it, Shia.
