All of the feels will be had: while we’re sure you’re probably still reeling from the news that Ben F*cking Affleck Is Going To Be The New Batman, you’re probably going to reel a little more from this… “Reality Bites” is coming back as an NBC sitcom.
You’ve reached the winter of our discontent.
It hasn’t been made crystal clear as to whether NBC ordered a full “Reality Bites” series or simply a pilot, but Deadline revealed that at least one iteration of the popular slacker rom-com will be made for television within the next year. Original writer Helen Childress is set to pen the script, while Ben Stiller – the original director and star of “Reality Bites” – is set to produce. According to Deadline:
It centers on recent college graduate Lelaina Pierce, the character played in the movie by Ryder, as she struggles to make her way — romantically and professionally — in the recession-plagued, pre-Internet early 1990s. Set in Houston, the show, and Lelaina herself with her video camera, chronicles the lives of her “slacker” friends with whom she shares an apartment.
So, basically, “That ’90s Show”?
