Bob Belcher is totally underrated as a burger chef. While his recipes might seem odd, you have to at least give him credit for the very clever play-on-word concoctions he comes up with for his burgers on Bob’s Burgers. Blogger Cole Bowden has actually been compiling, recreating, and taste-testing Bob’s recipes and recording the results on his blog, The Bob’s Burger Experiment and very soon, he’ll be sharing those recipes in cookbook form! No, really! The Bob’s Burgers Burger Book is soon going to hit bookstores near you — yes, you! — in the spring! We first learned about the cookbook back in January, but it really is going to be really real — really!
While we may have only gotten a little slider-sized taste of what Bob is cooking up in his kitchen — meaning, just names of interesting-sounding burgers — Bowden and Bob’s Burgers creator Loren Bouchard have teamed up to take this to the next level and worked out some awesome and involved recipes for a book that sounds pretty amazing. Bowden told NPR in January about the burgers he’s been documenting and said that his burger adventure “was maybe the best example of how doing a show in the age of the Internet can be such a satisfying experience.” Bouchard, who helped write the book and is providing the illustrations, said in the same interview that he knew about the blog, but didn’t want to interfere with what he clearly thought was a great experiment.
The Bob’s Burgers Burger Book will be released in March and is currently available for pre-order at Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
