Visiting New York City as a child is a big deal.
There’s nothing like seeing the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, and Grand Central Station for the first time, or enjoying the Big Apple’s finest cuisine, like the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. in Times Square or any of the various Hooters stretched throughout the city like so many pairs of orange shorts. When Carey Mulligan was but a wee girl living in Britain, her family came to New York on holiday and ate at Hooters because “that looks fun… owls!”
I’ve heard that excuse before. “No, honey. I don’t eat subpar chicken wings at Hooters to stare at breasts. I go there for the owl decor.”
