“Well, the weather outside is snowy,” Jimmy Kimmel Live guest Chris Pine (that’s the one who’s not Evans) sings at the beginning of his special little ditty about school closures happening across the East Coast tomorrow. “Going to school would sure be blowy,” he continues. And then, right as you thought this song couldn’t get any weirder (or better), he begins to sing out the names of the schools that are actually closed, bringing joy into the hearts of students and teachers and fear and dread into the souls of every parent who was hoping that they could have just a few hours of rest while their kid learned algebra or something.
Set to the tune of “Let It Snow,” Pines’ magical little number is one you’ll want to watch at least twice. Partly because he has the voice of an angel (Have you seen Into the Woods) and partly because the little jokes that he makes throughout–those that a failing lounge singer on his fifth glass of vodka might–are pretty charming. The writers even cut the names of the schools in funny little ways that really make the song one you might actually purchase on iTunes and then use as your ringtone for a hot second before remembering that (thank god) no one calls each other anymore. Good job, Chris Pine!
