Reviews of FOX’s Gotham have been mixed at best, but its ratings have earned it another season from the network. In its first season, Gotham has introduced audiences to Harvey Dent, Selina Kyle, Penguin, and a host of other Batman characters through the story of a young Jim Gordon in the Gotham Police Department.
“Gotham,” the Batman origins story, hails from Warner Bros. TV and exec producer Bruno Heller, Danny Cannon and John Stephens. Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue and Jada Pinkett-Smith star. The show has to date averaged 10.6 million viewers and 4.2 rating in adults 18-49 in Nielsen’s live-plus-7 ratings. (Via Variety)
Its ratings success promises that next year’s television line-up will be packed with even more comic book-inspired shows. Agents of SHIELD and Constantine haven’t announced whether or not they’ll return for additional seasons, but CW has already renewed The Flash and Arrow. Meanwhile, Agent Carter came out of the gate swinging on ABC.
