Let’s Talk About Tonight’s Geeky TV: ‘Gotham’ Unfurls ‘Penguin’s Umbrella’

Don’t you hate it when you get visited at work by a backflipping assassin? That’s what Jim Gordon has to deal with on Gotham, which we’ll be liveblogging, plus here’s what else is for geeks tonight. All times are EST.

8pm

Gotham, Fox: Victor Zsasz appears, and makes Gordon run around the city answering payphones while triangulating his signal. OK, not really, but wouldn’t that be a hoot?

The Originals, The CW: Today’s “vampires be sexy” show is titled Red Door, and I’m still wondering if it was called “Behind the Red Door” until somebody pointed out the obvious problem.

Timecop, MAXe: One of the few ’90s comic book movies that still holds up, possibly because it has little to do with the comic.

Green Lantern, FXM: If you’re in the mood for a comic book movie, could we perhaps point you towards Timecop?

9pm

Sleepy Hollow, Fox: Oddly, this show sees its greatest ratings bumps after it airs, and I didn’t realize why until it struck me that I goofed off on Twitter every time Katrina was on screen. Time to cut the baggage, guys, even if she is keeping Fox executives from trying to pair up Abby and Ichabod.

Star Wars Rebels, Disney X D: The inevitable high-school-invasion episode airs tonight. But even when it’s sticking to stock plots, this is still some of the most fun we’ve had with Star Wars in years.

The Punisher, IFC: The ’04 version, but still one of the more underrated comic book movies in my opinion. Thomas Jane should just be given Punisher residency.

Wild Wild West, Syfy: The awful movie, not the quite fun steampunk TV series. They should really bring that back.

Remember, I’ll be liveblogging Gotham, so if you’d like to weigh in yourself, come on down at 8pm EST. See you then!
