Just how huge is this Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones, “The Battle of the Bastards,” going to be? The answer: pretty darn. Writer Bryan Cogman has said that it includes “definitely the biggest [action sequence yet]” in the show’s history. And that includes the scene where a giant bashes some dude into a wall. Good stuff.
Anyone worried about what Wun Wun’s been up to since voicing his approval of “Snow” earlier this season should know that he’s going to be in “The Battle of the Bastards,” and hopefully smashing more people into walls. I’d also accept stepping on them, King Kong-style. You can check out more photos from the episode below, but here’s what Kristofer Hivju, who plays super-smooth wilding Tormund Giantsbane, had to say about the Bastard Bowl.
“We had 86 hours of footage when we finished,” Kristofer Hivju told the Hollywood Reporter about shooting the episode. “Some of the things we did, it felt like it was impossible. When you look at the storyboards, and the plans … it shouldn’t have been possible to do. It’s extremely ambitious. I know everybody — [showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss] and the directors and producers — really put their heads together to do something that’s just unique.” (Via)
Get hyped.
