Hey, are you someone who enjoys popular medieval-style fantasy television shows about centuries-long intra-familial battles for power and someone with a crippling gambling addiction? Boy oh boy, do I have good news for you. Now that Game of Thrones is out in relatively uncharted, post-book waters, meaning the events depicted on the screen are a surprise to everyone who doesn’t work at the show, a gambling site named Bovado has taken the opportunity to create odds on everything from next death, to when Arya will regain her site, to who will end the series on the Iron Throne. Never let anyone tell you the future isn’t incredible.
Here’s the full list of odds, via The Wrap:

Few interesting notes here:
- Today, in the Year of Our Lord 2016, you can bet real American money on whether a dragon on a TV show will die. We did it!
- Interesting that Jon Snow — who is, at present, deceased — still gets the top spot in the odds to take the Iron Throne.
- At 500/1, you almost have to throw $10 at Hodor becoming King of Westeros. If it fails, hey, you just spent $10 to dream for a few seasons. But if it pays off, it will be the funniest thing ever and you’ll have $5,000. This, I believe, is called a value bet.
But here’s the most interesting part: Remember that story from a few weeks ago that claimed President Obama had been given screeners to season six? A teeny, tiny part of me — read as: a huge part of me — hopes President Obama goes full Biff Tannen and uses his insider info to put every dollar in the U.S. Treasury on the character that he knows is next to die. Like, say it’s Tommen at 25-1. Two years ago it was estimated that the treasury had $50 billion in cash on hand (in addition to whatever they can print up quick by Sunday). That would pay out a cool $1.25 trillion, minimum. And then he could let that all ride the next week. And the next. Bing bang boom, economy fixed.
It’s almost too easy.
