Ermahgerd, we are so close to the Game of Thrones season six debut. Yesterday the cast of the show converged on Hollywood’s famous Chinese Theater for a special premiere event. The rest of us have to wait until Sunday April 24th to catch the opening episode, but thanks to Entertainment Weekly we can sneak a peek at scenes from episodes one and two of the show right now.
The first clip shows Cercei and Jaime Lannister dealing with the death of their daughter Myrcella at the hands (or should we say lips) of Ellaria Sand. The next has Sansa Stark and Theon Greyjoy running for their lives through the vast wintery north. And finally we see a horseless Daenerys Targaryen prodded through the gates of Vaes Dothrak by her Dothraki captors.

This is just the latest glimpse HBO has given us of season six, alongside a new trailer that dropped today as well. Based on what we’ve seen, the show seems to be sprinting ahead of the books on all fronts, which is both exciting and terrifying. Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are convinced this season is the best season of Game of Thrones yet. We’re about to find out if that’s true in less than two weeks.
