It Doesn’t Sound Like Jessica Lange Is Done With ‘American Horror Story’ After All

Jessica Lange has made it clear in no uncertain terms that she’s finished with American Horror Story, a point that Ryan Murphy reiterated on Twitter shortly after the finale of Freak Show aired. She’s done, guys. Jessica Lange took her final bow with Elsa Mars.

Except, she’s saying that she’d totally be open to returning to American Horror Story! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Lange, who’s heading to Broadway for a production of Long Day’s Journey Into Night with Murphy in 2016, told TheWrap that she might not be done with our favorite creepy dumb show after all.

“If Ryan came to me and said, ‘Would you want to do a small character for a couple episodes?’ I would absolutely say yes if I liked it,” Lange said during a recent interview for TheWrap’s Emmy magazine. “This was a great collaboration, so I would love to keep working with him.”

“There was a thread through all four of those characters, which is a kind of desperation, a profound disappointment in life,” Lange said. “As on-edge or neurasthenic as they appear to be, they have a spine of steel,” she said. “It’s exactly the kind of complexity in a character that I love, that it appears to be one thing and it’s something else.”

So… Lange is returning to American Horror Story: Hotel in some capacity? I’ll be shocked if she doesn’t. Speaking of actors who are coming back for Hotel, Ryan Murphy confirmed on Twitter earlier this week that fan favorite Finn Wittrock is also returning:
