When Jenna Fischer said that she and John Krasinski were “genuinely in love” on The Office, no one thought they were actually in love and destined to make smirking babies together. Just because Ron Swanson and Tammy are together in real life doesn’t mean every couple on an NBC sitcom hooks up off-camera. But here comes ol’ buzzkill Halpert, telling the Daily Beast that Fischer’s comments were “wildly misquoted or taken out of context.”
“I’m sure she was trying to say something nice about how genuine the acting relationship was, of bringing a relationship that became that popular onscreen—and I think we both feel it’s such an honor to be a part of that relationship. As far as how she was quoted about saying we were ‘genuinely in love,’ I think that was taken wildly out of context and I feel bad for her.” (Via Daily Beast)
Emily Blunt was this close to challenging Fischer to a pushups contest. Anyway, if I was playing Cupid with the cast of The Office, I wouldn’t pick Jim and Pam. The correct answer is Oscar and the Senator. Or maybe Pete and Erin. Or Toby and the Scranton Strangler. Now, there’s love.
