If there’s one thing we can definitely count on in this election cycle, it’s that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump supporters will never, ever agree about anything. Or will they? That’s what Jimmy Kimmel set to find out, as he explained last night: “I always wonder whether people are really paying attention to the issues or not… For the most part, I don’t think it matters what a candidate says, it matters to people which candidate says it.”
As such, during last week’s DNC, he sent a camera crew to interview people asking them what they thought of various remarks Hillary Clinton has made, only of course they were actually Donald Trump quotes. They were able to fool people with some softballs like, “What do you think when Hillary Clinton said, ‘I see improved relations with Russia from a position of strength only is possible?'” Hillary could have said that! Maybe?
Things get a little more iffy when they veer into territory like, “There’s nothing I love more than women, but they’re really a lot different than portrayed — they are far worse than men, more aggressive, and boy, can they be smart!” What? No! Hillary definitely didn’t say that. Yet, the gentleman faced with that quote wholeheartedly agrees: “I’ve worked for 38 years at the hospital with women, and that’s very accurate.”
Finally, all it takes is a personal attack on Bette Midler’s looks before someone is finally able to see through the ruse. Good job, Democrats.
