Johnny Depp’s take on Donald Trump for Funny or Die’s The Art of The Deal: The Movie was an incredible take on the current GOP frontrunner for president — complete with a title theme by my good “friend” Kenny Loggins. It featured Depp’s chameleon style that you’ve seen countless times before and a lot of makeup, which leads up to the clip above.
Watching Depp peel off his Trump makeup reminds me of something you’d see out of a horror film. It’s like the scene from the original Poltergeist where the guy tears his face off in the bathroom, except it’s Johnny Depp with makeup. You can feel the fear in Depp that he somehow was becoming Trump and needed to break free from the spell.
Next thing you know, Depp might be trying to buy casinos, run for president, and offending everybody with more than just his music. Just a joke, obviously. Or is it? Maybe Depp kinda deserves it. I mean he was truly cruel to young Leonardo DiCaprio. It could’ve lit a spark in DiCaprio, sure, but the cruelty wasn’t called for. Trumpening is his punishment.
Also if the Trumpening is the next big idea from Seltzer and Friedberg, I’ll be shocked.
