There are some new leaked shots from the season six set of Game of Thrones, and they’re a lot more revealing than the drone shots we shared with you earlier. Those showed a number of Greyjoy bannermen being filmed on shore, paddling longships, and doing various other second unit business. These latest images give away a couple of plot elements for Daenerys Targaryen’s storyline. Spoilers ahead!
We can’t actually show you the images here because of copyright and lawsuits and flaying and all that, but we can link to them and tell you what’s in them. The shots come from the Game of Thrones‘ Spain set and show Daenerys and her lover Daario Naharis traveling with a Dothraki khalasar through a steppe-like region. One important detail to note is that neither seem to be prisoners, although who knows if the Dothraki even bother binding honored “guests?” Another interesting detail? Many of the Dothraki are wearing red capes.

At the end of season five (and A Dance with Dragons), Daenerys was surrounded by Dothraki riders with the viewers left wondering what would happen to the former Khaleesi. Based on what we know of Dothraki custom, they may try to drag her back to Vaes Dothrak to take her place amongst the dosh khaleen. the wives of fallen Khals. Or they may just decide to kill her. The leaked photos don’t give us much indication, but it does seem like Dany has managed to pull herself into some position of power inside the khalasar.
All will be revealed when the show returns in March of 2016. Until then, we’ll have to keep torturing ourselves with little spoilers like this. Winter can’t come soon enough!
