Luke Mitchell has been cast as Lincoln, a new Inhuman character, in the second half of season two of Agents of SHIELD.
Previously, Mitchell starred in the Australian soap opera Home and Away and the CW’s The Tomorrow People. In Agents of SHIELD, his character will play an “important role” in Skye’s future storyline after the secret of her true identity was revealed in the mid-season finale.
The Inhumans, as they are known in the Marvel-verse, are a race of beings that have been genetically enhanced by the Kree, the same alien species from “Guardians of the Galaxy.” It was revealed in “SHIELD’s” midseason finale that Skye is actually Inhuman Daisy Johnson, aka Quake, and that her father, played by Kyle MacLachlan, is Dr. Calvin Zabo/Mr. Hyde, a villain in the comicbooks.
There isn’t any indication of whether Lincoln will be working for or against Coulson’s team, but his character is described as charismatic. In the second half of its second season, Agents of SHIELD will have a massive charisma void to fill where B.J. Britt used to be, so Mitchell had better turn on the charm. RIP, Agent Triplett.
